How Many Federal Manufacturing Contracts Actually Go to Small Business Anyhow?

Federal Drive

Blank Rome partner Justin A. Chiarodo, who serves as chair of the firm’s Government Contracts group and chair of the Aerospace, Defense & Government Services (“ADG”) industry team, joined host Tom Temin on Federal Drive, a Federal News Network podcast, to discuss how many federal manufacturing contracts go to small businesses.

On the episode “How Many Federal Manufacturing Contracts Actually Go to Small Business Anyhow?” Justin explains that the federal government aims to award contracts to small businesses, including manufacturers. If no small manufacturer exists for a product, agencies can request a waiver from the Small Business Administration to allow any sized manufacturer to supply the product instead. Justin then discusses the recent issues with waivers.
