Extended Bio
Laura Vikander joined Dickstein Shapiro in 1983. Ms. Vikander is counsel and has practiced in general litigation, with an emphasis on complex dispute resolution, insurance coverage, labor union issues, commercial disputes, and mass tort problems. For the past several years, she has devoted a significant amount of time to firm administration and leadership, working closely with the Chairman, Managing Partners, and Practice Group Leaders in the firm. Prior to that, Ms. Vikander was involved in negotiating with insurance carriers on behalf of policyholders with wide-ranging liabilities. This practice involves structuring creative solutions to complex situations. When a negotiated settlement cannot be reached, Ms. Vikander also participates in insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts. She also has been involved in every aspect of federal court litigation, including seeking and defending against temporary restraining orders, second-chairing a secondary boycott trial, and drafting briefs and arguing before the courts of appeals.
