Awards & Honors
Paul R. Taskier is a senior litigation partner at Dickstein Shapiro. Mr. Taskier has extensive experience in large, multiparty civil litigation in federal and state courts across the United States, as well as in international arbitrations. During his more than 25 years in practice, he has recovered billions of dollars in judgments and settlements, and handled cases encompassing antitrust, insurance coverage, international arbitration, defamation, intellectual property, and licensing disputes, as well as major commercial disputes and contract actions and related appellate litigation. He served on the firm’s Executive Committee from 2007 to 2011.
Among his recent victories, Mr. Taskier led the Dickstein Shapiro trial team which, in January 2011, secured a $482 million jury verdict—the largest of the year according to
Lawyers USA
—for the firm’s client in
Saffran v. Johnson & Johnson and Cordis Corp.
, a patent infringement action in Texas federal court. His success on the case led the
American Lawyer Litigation Daily
to profile him as its “Litigator of the Week” on February 3, 2011. Two years earlier, Mr. Taskier helped secure a $431.9 million jury verdict on behalf of the same client in
Saffran v. Boston Scientific Corp.
, serving as trial counsel in the damages portion of the case. In the fall of 2009, Mr. Taskier served as second chair, with the head of the firm’s Antitrust Practice, in a month-long jury trial, resulting in a verdict in favor of client ArvinMeritor. This matter was a several-hundred-million-dollar monopolization antitrust suit against a competitor in the heavy duty truck transmission industry.
