Paul R. Taskier’s professional life has been devoted to the practice of law at Dickstein Shapiro, which he joined in 1983. Mr. Taskier was elected to the partnership in 1990. His practice consists primarily of large, multiparty civil litigation in federal and state courts across the nation. For more than 20 years, his practice has encompassed cases in such diverse areas as antitrust, insurance coverage, reinsurance arbitration, defamation, intellectual property, and licensing disputes, as well as major commercial disputes and contract actions, and related appellate litigation. In February 2008, he was the lead litigator in Saffran v. Boston Scientific Corp., a patent infringement action in which he was trial counsel on the damages portion of the case, which returned the sixth largest patent judgment in U.S. history, according to The Wall Street Journal. He has represented Tyson Foods and others in multidistrict antitrust litigation, and Arthur Andersen LLP, McDonald’s Corporation, Oracle Corporation, Ogden Corporation, and Pfizer Inc in major insurance coverage litigation. Moreover, his practice encompasses representation of foreign entities and individuals in the U.S. courts and in U.S. and international arbitration tribunals.
