Shamir Patel joined Dickstein Shapiro in October 2004 and currently is an associate in the Government Contracts Practice.

Mr. Patel’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation matters representing clients in response to federal Department of Justice and State Attorneys General investigations. He represents major health care companies in connection with cases involving pharmaceutical pricing fraud, False Claims Act, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, RICO, multidistrict class action suits, and consumer protection. He previously has represented clients in antitrust, insurance coverage, and telecommunications actions.

Mr. Patel participates significantly in the firm’s pro bono practice. He has represented clients who face legal problems while living with HIV/AIDS. He also has worked with the NAACP in challenging barriers to affirmative action programs.
