Mark Kolman joined Dickstein Shapiro in 1996, and is a partner in the Insurance Coverage Practice. In addition to insurance coverage matters, Mr. Kolman’s practice focuses on civil litigation, mass torts, and trials of complex disputes. He has served as lead counsel in several major trials involving insurance coverage for asbestos-related claims, environmental claims, silicone breast implants, cell phones, and directors and officers liability matters. Mr. Kolman has been a trial lawyer for more than 37 years, starting as a state and federal prosecutor in Baltimore, Maryland, and has first-chaired more than 150 jury trials and over 1,000 contested cases. For the last 20 years, Mr. Kolman has focused his practice as lead trial counsel in the litigation and trial of complex insurance coverage cases for major policyholders.

Mr. Kolman has been a member of the board of directors of the Maryland Victim Assistance Network, the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, and the Maryland Chapter of the Leukemia Society of America. He presently is a member of the board of visitors of the Greenebaum Cancer Center, and is active with the Ulman Cancer Fund and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
