The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) provides women attorneys with opportunities to connect through business networking events, internal social networking events, and legal industry educational events. Further, in 2010, the WLI launched a newsletter, Connections, creating a platform for information sharing among the women attorneys at the firm. We strive to improve communication among women attorneys to enhance business development activities, maintain interaction among offices, and promote team building.

The networking and educational events we host range from the traditional, such as the November 2010 DuPont Women’s Legal Network Mini-Conference, to the unique, such as our Los Angeles office’s May 2010 cocktail reception and private screening of the Sex and the City 2 movie. In 2009, we were a founding member of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Alliance (WLMA), an organization established to cultivate networking, mentoring, and career development opportunities among senior level executives representing a variety of industries, positions, and generations. In 2010, we co-hosted numerous events that women, both within the firm and across the Washington, DC area, have attended for the networking and training opportunities offered and a chance to build relationships with other female business leaders.

All of our events provide a venue for one-on-one, high-level networking opportunities between our attorneys and women in-house counsel and senior executives from both existing and potential client companies. Click here to see a full listing of our WLI events.
